Score Choice

As many of you have probably already heard, The College Board will be introducing a new score reporting policy for the SAT. Beginning this March, students will have the option of choosing which scores from each section are sent to admission officials at the schools they choose to apply to. This policy called Score Choice has stirred up a bit of a debate. The College Board claims it will reduce the stress students have for the SAT. However, some see this as a way for the College Board to encourage students to attempt the test more times and pay the associated fees. Also, some colleges have decided to oppose the Score Choice option. For example, The University of Southern California has stated that they want to see all scores from the SAT and ACT. The New York Times covered the new policy in this article.

Please check with your college counselor to see how this policy might affect your application process.
