Importance of the SAT/ACT

Applying to college is a hectic experience for high school students and one of the most stressful aspects of the process is preparing for and taking the SATs and ACTs. These tests are one of the major determinants of whether a student gets accepted to the school of his or her choice. GPA and standardized test scores are usually the two most important parts of a student’s application package. Whereas GPA reflects a student’s achievement over four years of school, the SAT/ACT is a single test and a student’s performance during those 3 hours and 45 minutes can play a major part in his or her future. As a result, students can become extremely intimidated by the test. Higher Standard aims to make students more comfortable with this test and help them reach their highest possible score through a comprehensive test preparation course.
